President vs. Vice President & Interclub Qualifying Tournaments

This is the first tournament of the season. It offers an opportunity for returning members to renew their acquaintance with each other and new members to network. Moreover, members will compete for a spot to represent the Riverside men’s Club on the Interclub Team.

In the first day competition, the entry field is broken down into four handicap groups, low, medium, high and new members. One player from each group will be drawn to form either a president’s team or a vice President’s Team. Draw will further be made to match one president’s team and one vice-president team for competition. The winning team is the one with the total of all four low net scores of the team. New members without established handicap will be scored under the Callaway System.

After the first day, the low 40 and ties (based on double bogey maximum hole scores) will compete on Sunday for the two day 36 hole total low gross to qualify for the Interclub team.

The Riverside Men’s Club belongs to the E.G.A.. The Riverside Men’s Club Interclub team, which consists of 12 members and two alternates, will represent all members to compete with Interclub teams from other E.G.A. golf clubs. The Club Professional, the previous years Club Medallist, and the previous years Club Champion are team members. The Club Champion will captain the team. The competition for the remaining 11 members is open to all members during the two-day tournament. However, there are only two spots on the team for new members.
